The most successful actor-director pair in Mollywood as superstar Mohanlal and master director Priyadarshan is all set to join again for a new flick titled Oppam. The film will start in next February month as per report and the main loctaions of this film will be Chennai, Kochi and Ootty as per reports. Earlier it has been reported that Ashirvad Cinemas will finance this film. But now reports indicating that the flick will be financing by GP Vijaya Kumar under the popular banner of his named Seven Arts. The highlight of this film will be the character played by Mohanlal who is a blind man. Mohanlal is playing a blind man throughout this film and it will be the first time that he is playing a full-fledged blind character in his career. He had played a character who loses his eye sight in films like Guru. But it was not actually a full -fledged blind character as that comes only in a particular part of a film.
This Priyadarshan film is an investigation thriller that is based on a murder that happens in a flat. Mohanlals character will have to find the one who did it as he becomes the prime suspect. If he failed to catch the one who did it, he will be charged guilty. How a blind man will cop up with this situation is the story the film going to tell. Popular Tamil actor and director Samudrakkani is playing a negative character in this film as well.
Priyadarshan had written the screenplay of this film and the story is written by a newcomer named Govind. Priyadarshan is writing a Malayalam film script after almost 20 years as his last script for a Malayalam film was for Chandralekha directed by him starring Mohanlal in the lead. It was a blockbuster success as well. Nedumudi Venu and Mamukkoya are the other prominent actors roped in for this film and a 7th standard boy also playing a key role in this flick. 5 young music directors will compose music for this film and the lyrics will be penned down by Vinu Vasudevan.
