Now a days Ruby is getting more popular. I am seeing lot of opportunities for Ruby on Rails.You can start with Ruby programming language and then learn Rails(Web development framework).It is easy to learn.
If you know data structure and algorithms, you should be able to write program in any languages.However to begin with start with Python.It is easiest to learn and have good job market.
