8/15/1872	Sri Aurobindo Man Mohan Ghosh born in Calcutta. He was a renaissance yoga philosopher, freedom fighter and teacher. His 30-volume work discusses the 'superman', a metaphor for the divinely transformed individual soul. He withdrew from the world in 1910 and founded International Ashram in Pondicherry.
1/3/1987	Dr. Harekrishna Mehtab, former Chief Minister of Orrisa and Governer of Mumbai State, died.
7/4/1789	British East India Company signed a treaty with the Nizam of Hydrabad and Peshwa of Pune against Tipu Sultan, King of Mysore, on the understanding that a cavalry of 10,000 would attack Tipu's territory and the conquered area would be divided amongst the three.

12/24/1902	Shashi Mukhi of Classic Theatre, Calcutta, was the first Indian to record on gramophone. This song was on 25 cms. one sided disc and the lyrics were ""Kanha Jeevan Dhan"" from the play Shri Krishna. The song was recorded by Gramophome and Typewriter Company.
10/13/1978	Maharashtra branch of Forward Block Party merged in Indira Congress.
11/2/1992	Nine Maharashtra ministers resign.
