8/1/1905Horse drawn tram cars were closed down in Bombay. This service was started on May 9, 1874 with 20 tram cars and 200 horses. The very first day of its run, the number of passengers carried was 451 and the amount earned was Rs. 85/- on the last day it had 1360 horses and carried 71,947 passengers and earned Rs.4,260/.
7/18/1996Union Finance Ministry gives final clearance to the Enron power project in terms of issuance of counter-guarantee.
3/1/1960National Aeronautical Research Laboratory moves to Bangalore with offices at Palace Road and Jayamahal Road. It soon becomes National Aeronautical Laboratory. Dr Nilakantan invites Dr D M Rao to lead the 4 ft tunnel project.

It carried wide spectrum of VVIPs, including the President, the Prime Minister, renowned statesmen, Generals, Luminaries and visiting foreign dignitaries.
