Jharkhand announces rewards on seven Maoists

Ranchi, Dec 4 (IANS) The Jharkhand Police on Friday announced rewards ranging from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 10 lakh on seven Maoist guerrillas of banned People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI).

A statement by police headquarters also released the photographs of these Maoists wanted in Ranchi, Khuti, Gumla, Simdega, and Chaibasa (West Singhbhum) districts, including PLFI chief Dinesh Gope.

Other Maoist guerrillas on whom rewards were announced are Jidan Gudia and Tilkeshwar Gope (Rs 10 lakh each), Awadesh Kumar Jaiswal alias Abodh Kumar Jaiswal alias Chua, Ajay Purt, Shanischaran Purty, and Mangra Lugun (Rs 2 lakh each).

Police also issued mobile numbers of police officials whom one could contact for information on these Maoists or their properties.

Maoists are active in 18 of the 24 districts in the state.
